ReCAp : THIS IS IT , 22 March 2010

Revelations is one of the books in the bible which are rarely touched on. Last week in CF, it was an eye opener as Annette and the FES staff guided us thru’ the book of revelations in such a short time. It’s like a reminder that it’s time to face the truth, the truth that it’s going to happen and is already happening. So are we hot or cold, or lukewarm? Are we willing to stand up for Christ in these times? Or are we just giving in to the world? Also, it’s also undeniable that He, Jesus Christ, is coming soon!

Don't KEEP Hiding!! Stand UP for Christ!!

Hmm... For me personally... I think Annette cleared out some things about the book Revelation where its not a book predicting the end of time rather a book to comfort people during that time who were being persecuted for their faith.. The whole book is still kind of a blur to me.. Coz u cant really take the meanings literally... But Annette & the gang did a great job breaking down the book of Revelation to us.. Now its easier to see the picture after she broke it down to 10 parts.. Overall the activities was good & the way she tried to tell the message was also quite creative. It was a good session.. :)

P/s: FES staffs can u all don't give the audience unnecesarry heart attack by suddenly voicing out.. XD.. It's startling.. And confusing at times whether you're talking to us or are you doing a monologue.. XD

HHmmm....On last's week's~

Pastor Scott emphasized on the importance it is for us to be 'connected' to other people and, especially, to God. In order to connect with God, it is important for us to draw ourselves away from distractions and remain in solitude to hear His voice. While there is no rigid time or duration required for these periods, Pastor Scott stressed that it is important to have these moments frequently and regularly. During these moments of solitude it is important that we do not overwhelm His voice with other sources of distractions such as music or phone, or even by us dominating the conversation with God.

FROM BROTHERS:

I think it was really great to see brothers and sister get to appreciate one another in that way, because actually in my culture we ever hardly do anything like that. I felt really blessed and think its a great idea to publicly appreciate one another like that and most importantly the message at the end. One thing that really caught me is that rules actually help us to have fun, to help us to reach our maximum potential. The example the speaker made about football, actually it really does apply to our lives and its an encouragement to really pursue godliness and not to be envious to those who don't because we are actually training ourselves to reach our potential and will have the best fun when we all play by the rules.

What is appreciation? How often do we sincerely say thanks to someone else?

The last CF was about Brothers and Sisters Appreciation Day (BSAD). It was a good opportunity for us to show how much the brothers appreciate the sisters and vice versa.

A little ‘thank you’ can encourage one another especially when it is from the bottom of the heart. During the graceful night, the sisters presented a song to tell how much the brothers had made them smile. The title of the song was ‘SMILE’ by Uncle Kracker. On the other hand, the brothers had put tremendous effort in their performances. The two dances and one song were definitely enough for the sisters to feel whatever they were trying to express. The guys sang ‘Thank you for loving’ by Bon Jovi.

It was really a great night and to those who are reading this, do treat every day as BSAD and appreciate each other every day! :)

It's something we heard about time and time again, but never hurts to remind ourselves, especially at this point of our lives that we can be in the world but not of it. Pastor Lemuel gave us a great reminder to always remember who we are, where we are, and remember that God intends for us to be salt and light of the world.

We should always be examples that others on the campus, to stand out among our peers and not to follow just because others are doing and to think it's alright.

ReCAp : Redefine, 9 Feb 2010

The main issue about that week's CF gathering is to reinforce our main theme for this academic year which is “Ladder Up”.

This theme can be broken down into 3 sub-themes which are Spirituality, Sanctification and Evangelism. Besides reinforcing our theme, it was an opportunity for us to check our spiritual growth. During that session 4 questions were asked. They were :

1) Why are we Christians?

2) Why do we need to ladder up?

3) How do we ladder up?

4) When thing don’t go right for us, do we blame God? Why?

Among all this questions the 1^st is the most important. The 1^st question is basically the foundation for our faith. Without knowing this it would be difficult for us to ladder up in our Christians lives.

So, please take some time and ponder on this and find out why are you Christian as a solid foundation is important to building up our trusts in God. Amen.

, the word is of Greek which means platonic love for one another.

This year, the word AGAPE will be brought to life, by a number of dedicated people in the core team. There will be a fair for all to have fun, but at the same time, presenting dedications for the needy as there will be a donation box prepared and all proceeds will go to charitable bodies. At the same time, there will be a musical drama night where by audiences will watch a drama presentation just for them by talented people where by audiences will watch a drama presentation just for them by talented people to project, what AGAPE is really all about.
