A lil Recap On the Things We Did.......

Legion and pig [ acting it out – a way to learn His Word, SPEAKING out ]

- Reminded of God’s authority – 1 vs few thousand, the demons begged.
- God’s grace for us. He came all the way for this man, and He also came all the way from heaven to earth for us too. [praise]
- Do not belittle God, even though sometimes we think we are not able, despite who we are, [we maybe outcasts] God can still use us. One encounter with Jesus, this man’s entire life was changed.
- Let God be glorified through our lives, through what Jesus has done for us. Let the transformation be evident, and people will be amazed.

Annette’s farewell

- We celebrated her leaving (in a good way) even as God has called her into another ministry.
- We thank God for her life, because she has always been with the CFMMU since the beginning, she has been a good friend to many of the students here in CFMMU.
- She has taught us how to be the difference, make an impact.
- The best way to show our appreciation is to catch the fire, and live out our lives to be a blessing to others around us, just as she did.

Mary & Martha

- Often in life, we go about doing everything that is important, but yet, forget what is the most important, to sit at His feet.
- What does it mean to sit at His feet? To fellowship with Him, to hear Him speak, to let Him have a say, to be humble.
- The task that Martha was doing wasn’t wrong in itself, but she failed to see what is truly important.
- Have we been running around doing our errands lately without spending time with Him? With all the assignments, tight schedules, final exam that is coming up, it’s easy for us to just somehow forget to spend time with Him. 5 mins a day for a start.

Sermon on the Mount ( Matthew Pt 1 – Pt 3 )

- We had Ps Jason, Wan Ling and Mr Micheal Williams here to share about the sermon on the Mount.
- I remember Ps Jason saying that the greatest unbelief is not among the unbelievers, but in the church. Something that we should reflect upon. Maybe we went through bad experiences and hence we give up there.
- We talked about the beatitudes ( be – attitude ) [ blessed is the poor, those who mourn, meek, hunger and thirst for righteousness, merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers ]
- Is there any areas in our attitude that requires a change?
- How do we make Christianity relevant to the people around us? A change of perspective – BE the salt, BE the light, don’t try to be.
- Wan Ling also mentioned that by having the beatitudes, the salt and light naturally comes. We also talked and discuss about the roles of salt and light, like how salt can preserve what is good, how salt can add flavor, and remove parasites (like leeches). How light can be a guide, and places where light shine best. In the dark.
- Along with that, we also talked about the fulfillment of the law and the laws. As a summary, we can try all we want, but still fail. God is truly concern about what’s on the inside. What’s in your heart. Live for Christ from both the inside and the outside. What’s on the inside will naturally flow out in our actions.
- We also learned about the Lord’s prayer. Something that I really hold on to and appreciate as a Christian is that we have a personal God. A God that we can call Father, one that is so dear to us.
- The prayer also reminds me that God, our personal Father is dear to us (meaning that He loves us) .. He’s also in Heaven! Which means He has the authority! I am also reminded that God is our provider and He gives us mercy and grace to go through every day. The Lord’s prayer also reminds of His Love for us as our deliverer!
- Next during Matthew Pt 3, we learned that primarily, Matthew chapter 7 is focusing on the people around us rather than ourselves.
- “Am I judgmental? “ was one of the question that I carried with me by the end of the day, it’s easy to forgive people whom you care and love(still love). But what about the people who did wrong? People who really did wrong against you. Do I seek revenge? Do I forgive just like that? I was reminded to always “check myself first”
- Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking – even for the benefits of others. It’s really not easy for me, as a human to really care about another person. As human, I was thought to keep for myself, be selfish.
- One part of the verse that I like most is that God said “If you who are evil knows how to give good gift to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!”
- Do to others what you want others to do to you!
- Well, obviously, this whole sermon on the mount is really mind blowing, it’s really something that we don’t normally do as humans. It’s just against our human nature la..
- Hence, comes the part with Jesus saying, the narrow path. For wide is the path that leads to destruction, but narrow is the gate that leads to life. It’s a constant choice in life. We are often challenged with questions and decision to make, and most of the time it’s easier to make the bad choice la.. I believe many of you know what I’m talking about right? haha
- A tree and it’s fruits was also talked about. Our character. “Whats on the inside, is it done out of love?”
- Wise builder and foolish builder.
