Adopt A Gift In Action

ADOPT A GIFT
(RUMAH CHARIS)

“Adopt a Gift” is a charity event organised by MMUCS (Multimedia University Christian Society), Cyberjaya, to reach out and touch the lives of orphans. Students of MMU are given the opportunity to “adopt” a gift to be given to a child of their choice. On the 6th of December 2008, 14 students from MMU Cyberjaya paid a visit to the orphanage division of Rumah Charis – one of the two orphanages chosen for this event.

Starting the day with a prayer, the team left Cyberjaya at 9:00 am. Upon reaching Rumah Charis, we were acquainted with the children before starting off with a few songs in which the children joined in. After the songs, we played a few games with the children, and later spent time getting to know the children better.

Most of the children were responsive and participated actively. We later presented the gifts (consisting of shampoo, face towel, and book wrapper, among others) to them; they looked happy upon receiving the gifts. When it was time for the children to have lunch, the team helped out in a number of house chores by sweeping and mopping the floor, cutting the grass, as well as washing the van.

When we were done, we thanked the management for hosting us and bid farewell to the children with hopes that we had at least touched some of their lives and made them happy.

ADOPT A GIFT
(RUMAH TRINITY)

My Bible tells me that Jesus loves children and today, I understand why, because those kids were full of life, good spirit, energy, boldness, eagerness and all those characters that make up a good Christ like person; they were just the sweetest little people one could want to hang around. It was great the way they just interacted with us, none were afraid or shy , they just openly received us as their brothers and sisters , excitement was surely on their faces as we arrived .

Game time was the moment of truth as we were getting to know them a bit better and it was meaningful and worth it , apart from the excitement , the football was great , we came out tired and sweaty , but had a lot of fun the boys were so energetic we couldn’t keep up with them.

The sacrifice made by the CF team for the children was a very good example and encouragement for us and for the kids as well the gifts , computers ,games , the time , resources, were so appreciated by the parents /guardians

And I'm glad that I was part of the team and believe it’s just the beginning, the tip of the iceberg, to love children and even the poor, those that are in need. Christmas is a time of remembering the birth of our Lord J.C. Remembering why He came to this earth, so save us to help the poor, the orphans, the widows and I believe this is the start of a greater calling of caring for these people.

I pray that the great job that was done, would not just end here but will continue on and on. The lives of the kids were touched, knowing that there are people out there who cares is such a great relief and gives peace to the soul and mind despite the situation they are in, most importantly we should pray for those kids to come to the place in their lives that they may come to know the Lord J.C as their Lord and saviour so that they may experience the Joy and the Love He came to give.

I believe the parents also have a great appreciation to what we are doing for the kids and for the home, it was great the way there just played along with us and the kids, shows that they really have the heart for these kids and they should also be examples to us .

Many many many blessing to them as they take good care of these kids and guide them to the righteous ways of God. And all in all the trip was a great success, the transport and preparations were good, no distractions or troubles. I believe its because there was a good coverage from God because of the prayers and that we choose to take Him along and not do things by ourselves.

We concluded with a great lunch and everyone was on their way home .

Previously in CF: Fraternidad y Hermandad

Photobucket
This week we have our special guest speaker, Pastor Gan to share on the message of brotherhood and sisterhood.
Click here for the link to the recorded message.

Why do we come together?
-It’s not just about coming together to have fun, we have to get something from this fellowship and also to encourage others.
-Our relationships will determine our joy.
-When we come together we enhance our corporate strength.
-We are not coming together for collision but to help one another draw the best out of that person.
-When we are together we have to turn what is adverse into advantage.
-1 person can put 1000 to flee but 2 can put 10000 to flee.
-We have to build strong bonds with one another.

# Our relationship with God.
# We can’t love if we don’t know God’s love.
# Our relationships is held together because of Christ.
# Our relationships must be more than just emotions.
# If we want to build strong relationships we must see everyone through Christ’s perspective.
# we must give space and grace to one another.
# We have to forgive others just as Christ forgave us.
# Unforgiveness can be poisonous n lead to bitterness.
# Our attitudes make the difference between excellence and mere existence.

Advantages of being in a strong relationship:
-In times of crisis, we need to talk to someone, so we can confine a brother or sister.
-Better guy to guy n girl to girl
-We need people who can pray with us
-Find a person who we can relate to
-In Christ we are one

CF Camp 2008!!!

Photobucket

The just recent CF Camp in Raub is unlike before(the food, the activities) and the message of living for God, for others and also for ourselves all blends well in the perfect juxtaposition that we needed after our stressful week of exams.
There's definitely no regrets for those who stayed for this before returning to their comfy homes.Even the unexpected constancy of the rain did not seem to stop the campers from having fun in the 'gripping' activities.

-Rakesh-
The camp is awesome, I met lots of new friends, get to know the CF members more closer and some of them are crazy enough to have fun. Hehe......but most of all, its fun to have fellowship together, worshiping the God who created us and learned more deeply about him.

The games are fun, the food is delicious and most of all, everyone is sporting there especially victor who got ‘colored’ with food colorings by the guru G gang. Its a memory of a lifetime…

-David Foooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~-

I never expected it would be at a National Service camp site(nostalgic). Even though it was raining the first day during the kayaking that day (I might have forgotten most of the skill), it was still fun as ever. I also have to thank the committee for organizing such unique games.

It’s an eye opener of possibilities as I discovered there more use of instant noodles other than eating. The sermon given by the invited preacher is informative and motivates me to understand more about myself and how to serve ‘the man upstairs’ better.

This camp was exciting and full with memorable memories which I will cherish it for a very, very long time. I hope that the next camp will be even better and I can’t wait for that time to come.

-the Flying Dutchman-
I had a wonderful time during the camp. It was great to see my friends letting loose and having great fun especially during the kayaking. Meanwhile, I had the opportunity to help my friends to take pictures and little did I realize that I actually enjoyed taking pictures.
The camp site was great and some of my friends who went for NS told me that it was considered one of the best in its class.

During the preaching, it was a great reminder to me that we should live our lives not only for ourselves, but also to help others out in their times of need. At the end of the day, I managed to grasp some DSLR knowledge from the pros(credit to Kenji Yukito, Jian Wei and Kenny Yeoh)!

-Pastor D-
Got to know some of the CF’s culture here who camwhore just like playing with mirror. Hahaha! The amount of pics taken in this 3 days camp have been more than the total amount of what I've took for the past 1 year. You guys know lah, I damn shy wan weh >.<>

Never:- 1. Never let Rachel to name your acting character as she claimed she got the idea from 'daisy' duck. Do I really look like a duck, Rachel?

2. Never do the same 'dance' twice. Well, you could, but you might risk pic/video leaking over the net like Edison.

3. Never take picture with people surrounding you. You will end up being roti 'canai' on the ground.

-Kenny (slim)-
In all honesty, I am not a fan of camps. So it was actually with quite some reservations that I signed up for CF Camp 2008 - Live. I was, however, very pleasantly surprised during camp.
I found that I actually enjoyed myself, even from the first day (kayaking definitely helped, I'm sure).

The food was awesome; I don't believe I can quite adequately emphasize how glad I was on the quality of the food that was served. Certainly it far surpassed the kind of meals that I have come to associate with camps.

The company was awesome too (of course they are ) and the free time that we had was a great time to get to know the other campers better. On this note, I might suggest that more free time be allocated for the campers to do what they do best - bond and have fun!

All in all, I must say that this camp has been the pinnacle of all my camp experiences. It comes with my highest recommendations.

-Serious Commander Ron-
Before I start with my view on the camp, I would like to first of all thank all my fellow camp committees for being so committed and dedicated towards their job. They had done a very good job and I would personally like to congratulate each and every one of them.

Well, I would like to start off with my experience on being camp leader for the first time. When I first took up the job, I thought it was going to be like a piece of cake…“seriously” and I have absolutely no idea what I got myself into. The planning started off well but towards the end it was kinda stressful. The stressful part was during study week and exam week when I had to study while finalizing the camp stuff. Yea…It was so irritating that I nearly blew my head off.

After all the hard work, I’m really glad that the camp worked out GREAT!, even better than I’d expected actually , although there are couple of flaws, but I’m glad that most campers enjoyed it. I’m also really happy to see everyone mixing around and not being too sticky within their clicks.

For the games and activities, they were fun and humorous. Too much to elaborate but I’m happy to see everyone enjoying themselves especially under the rain. Well, all I can say that it was AWESOME!

As for the food, they were freggin good for an NS campsite. I can’t name it all, but the best meal we had was on the 2nd night when they served us BBQ chicken and bear. Yeap, it was very mouth-watering.

Well, there are actually a lot more I would want to say, but it might turn out into a 3 page essay. Haha. So to cut things short, I’m happy that the campers are happy =). To end my this statement , I would like to thank all the campers for their participation, camp committees, CF committees, our camp speaker Mr. Michael Williams, and not forgetting our CF advisor, Colin Pal for helping us with the T-shirts. Thank you all and CHEERS!!

-Andrew Yew-
Camp was fun.

Photobucket
an unforgettable camp~
